Canada's A/H1N1 Cases Rise to 2,446

The latest data released by the Public Health Agency of Canada on Monday showed 331 new confirmed cases of swine flu since Friday, bringing the country's total number of confirmed cases to 2,446.

The province of Quebec reported one fatality linked to the A/H1N1 virus. To date, four deaths have already been reported in Canada. The latest casualty was a woman from the Quebec City area who died last Friday. The victim died just three days after she initially showed flu-like symptoms. Elsewhere, two men from Toronto and one woman from Alberta have also succumbed to the new virus.

According to the latest tally, the provinces with the most number of cases are Ontario with 1,223 cases, Quebec with 547, and Saskatchewan with 210 cases. In the entire country, only the province of Newfound has no swine flu case.
