Peringatan Hari TB Se-dunia

Peringatan hari TB se-dunia jatuh pada tanggal 24 Maret setiap tahun. Peringatan ini dirancang untuk membangun kesadaran masyarakat bahwa Tuberculosis masih menjadi epidemi pada banyak wilayah di dunia. Penyakit ini menyebabkan kematian jutaan orang tiap tahun, terutama di negara dunia ketiga.
Tanggal 24 Maret, lebih dari satu abad yang lalu pada tahun 1882, Dr. Robert Koch mengejutkan dunia dengan mengumumkan bahwa dia telah menemukan penyebab Tuberculosis. Tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi penemuan bersejarah tersebut telah membuka jalan menuju diagnosa dan penyembuhan penyakit yang menyebabkan kematian 1 dari 7 orang.
Peringatan hari TB se-dunia pada tahun ini mengangkat tema "I am stopping TB" yang tidak hanya sekedar slogan, namun merupakan awal dari kampanye 2 tahunan dari semua orang dimanapun berada yang sedang berperan menghentikan TB.
