Brunei Confirms First H1N1 Case

On Saturday, Brunei's Minister of Health Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Haji Osman, stated that the first case of the influenza A/H1N1 was found in the country.
The case involves a 19-year-old student that recently arrived the country from the United Kingdom on June 16.
The patient turned himself in at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) hospital after he began feeling ill. A rapid test resulted positive for the virus. Other subsequent tests also came positive for the flu. Currently, the infected is under quarantine at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Penigiran Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong.
According to the statements, other passengers that boarded the flight BI098 will not be contacted since the ministry believes there is a low risk of infection.
The minister advised people to remain calm and not to panic.
